Stress can be due to too much focus on one thing. Repetitiveness on a single thing or activity creates the feeling of boredom. Boredom often starts a chain reaction leading to stress. This happens to employees who don’t see anything else in the world besides the work in front of them. It is known that stress relieving techniques and solutions vary with each person. Job related stress can be caused by the task or the working environment an employee works with.

Curing boredom from doing repetitive work is a difficult road. One of the objectives is to make tasks manageable regardless of the amount of workload. This ensures quality as well. One of the solutions presented by some companies to combat boredom is to create an atmosphere in the workplace. The atmosphere aimed is a friendly one for the employees to treat it as an enjoyable place to start their careers.

There are some companies that initiate activities in the office which serve as diversions of employees from their usual activities. For example, people in customer service field find themselves getting bored of the same script they use when they address their customers concerns. It is no secret that there are Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies hiring foreigners to represent their clients. Employees generally take the roles of customer service representatives. CSRs from overseas are usually composed of the youth sector. This means they are often the party animal bulk of the society. Theres also the fact that BPO companies demands much of the employees time. Employees from the other side of the globe work graveyard shifts to cater to Western customers.

Some companies know that the nightlife of the employees is affected. But the management of companies like these never failed to address the problem. There are certain activities organized by management such as parties on the site itself often coupled with live bands. This is one way of relieving the boredom in an otherwise mundane environment. This also caters to customer service representatives who thought they have lost their party life.

BPO companies know that a bored employee stuck in his desk can lead to stress and turnovers. In fact, BPO companies in Asia are known to have major turnovers. While employees take care of their own stress management, workplace stress management should be taken care of by the higher ups.
